Lionhead has kicked its first major patch update for Fable III, squinting and spluttering, out into the sunlight. Among other things, it attempts to fix a number of instances that could lead to corrupt save games and inevitable head-clutching woe. It also promises general frame-rate and performance improvements.

Elsewhere on the list of fixes, John Cleese-voiced Jasper the Butler is no longer prematurely silenced when entering the Sanctuary and a castle-dwelling chicken no longer rockets straight up into the air for several seconds when kicked.
