Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control Upgrade to 12.1.0.x

This page guides you through various upgrade paths available:

Pre-upgrade Console

To access the Pre-Upgrade Console from your 10g Release 5 (10.2.0.5) or 11g Release 1 (11.1.0.1) Enterprise Manager Console, you must apply the following patch on the OMS home. The Pre-Upgrade Console is the starting point for upgrading to Enterprise Manager 12c, and can be used to upgrade to either 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.1), 12c Release 2 (12.1.0.2), 12c Release 3 (12.1.0.3), 12c Release 4 (12.1.0.4) or 12c Release5(12.1.0.5).

Select the pre-upgrade console patch according to the release you are upgrading from. To apply the patch, follow the instructions outlined in the ReadMe. Ensure that you always apply the latest patch, that is, the patch released on June 15, 2015.

Two Point Hospital 1.04 Patch Download

If you have already applied an older pre-upgrade console, but not started the upgrade process, then download and apply the patch released on June 15, 2015 over the older patch. However, if you have started the upgrade process, then finish the upgrade successfully and then upgrade that to 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.1), 12c Release 2 (12.1.0.2), 12c Release 3 (12.1.0.3), 12c Release 4 (12.1.0.4) or 12c Release 5 (12.1.0.5).

Downloads

Verify if the patch is applied successfully: Once you have applied the patch and executed the SQLs listed in the Readme, login to the EM and navigate to Deployment tab. You will see a new link 'Enterprise Manager 12c Upgrade Console' . Click on the link to view the Pre-upgrade console.

  • Path 1: Upgrade from EM 10.2.0.5 /11.1.0.1 to EM 12.1.0.5

    Follow the below steps to start the upgrade process:

    1. Apply latest patch on OMS home for the Pre-upgrade console
    2. Stage EM 12.1.0.5 Agent software for Agent upgrade
    3. Stage required plug-in software

    Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.5 Agent Binaries

    The Management Agent archives listed below are only consumed by the Pre-Upgrade console for upgrading the Management Agent to 12.1.0.5 version. They cannot be used to install a new 12.1.0.5 Management Agent. You can’t use these binaries to upgrade 12.1.0.1 Management Agent to 12.1.0.2, 12.1.0.3, 12.1.0.4, or 12.1.0.5 Management Agent.

    Download the required Management Agent binaries to a shared location which you will provide in the Manage Software section of Pre-upgrade console.

  • Path 8: Upgrade from EM 12.1.0.1 to EM 12.1.0.2

    To upgrade from EM 12.1.0.1 to EM 12.1.0.2 you are not required to apply any Pre-upgrade console patch or to download any 12.1.0.2 agent binaries or plug-ins

  • Path 9: Upgrade from EM 10.2.0.5 /11.1.0.1 to EM 12.1.0.1

    Follow the below steps to start the upgrade process:

    1. Apply patch on OMS home for the Pre-upgrade console
    2. Stage EM 12.1 Agent software for Agent upgrade
    3. Stage required plug-in software

    Upgrading to Cloud Control 12.1.0.1 is supported from Grid Control releases 10.2.0.5 or 11.1.0.1 only. The upgrade to 12.1 is an out-of-place upgrade. Agent versions lower than 12.1.0.1 will not work with 12.1.0.1 OMS. Refer to the certification matrix for target and repository certification.

    Enterprise Manager 12.1 Agent

    The Management Agent archives listed below are only consumed by the Pre-Upgrade console for upgrading the Management Agent to 12.1.0.1. version. They cannot be used to install a new 12.1.0.1 Management Agent.

    Download the Management Agent zips to a shared location which you will provide in the Manage Software section of Pre-upgrade console. Don't unzip the binaries after downloading them. Verify the checksum after downloading the zip files. Following agent zips are updated with Bundle Patch 1.

    Management Agent file with .sar extension are used by self update feature of EM12c console and can't be used by Pre-upgrade console.
