I'm new the Dying Light and when I got the enhanced edition I went straight into the Nightmare mode as I've read the game was too easy before. I've cleared 70% of the game. Nightmare mode isn't really difficult but like others have said it's little frustrating with how many hits a regular zombie can take before going down. When the virals come I've found myself just climbing up higher and stomping them when they climb to me which is fun at first but it became a habit as it's just not as fun to fight them straight up as it takes so many swings to kill them. Also found myself using the camo too much and neck snapping a lot of zombies. Again is fun at first but I'd rather pop their heads with melee combat or a gun.
My question is to those that have played both Hard and Nightmare difficulty. How much easier is Hard mode than Nightmare? What are the differences? Will I get that satisfying feeling of slicing zombies up without feeling like it's tedious, but still give a decent challenge?
Was thinking of making some of my own rules about only looting chests and police/ambulance vans; not buying materials from the shop to bring scarcity of the items to the game, cause on nightmare I had an abundance of materials. I like having to make a decision with limited resources but LOVE the zombie bashing and not the damage sponges they can be on nightmare mode

Dying Light‘s previously announced “Hard Mode” patch has been released today in North America, with everywhere else to follow tomorrow. Made available on all platforms right now, the Hard Mode patch adds a new difficulty to the game that tweaks several mechanics for a tougher gameplay experience. Hard Mode changes include the following: zombies are more durable, nighttime length has been doubled, volatiles don’t show up on the mini-map, health regenerates slower than before, air drops are contested quicker, and more. Additionally, the Hard Mode patch adds new outfits, dozens of new weapons, a new item rarity level (Gold) various gameplay adjustments, and performance improvements.
